Tom and Mary’s home in Rapid City was in need of some critical repairs. Their home was losing heat, increasing the cost of utilities. In addition, they had a toilet that kept leaking and was ruining their floor. Due to the fact that they are both disabled, Tom and Mary were unable to complete the work on their own. By partnering with Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity, they were able to have two windows replaced, get their toilet fixed, and new skirting was installed on the back of their home. Now Tom and Mary will save on heating costs, and be able to stay in a safe and stable home. As they make zero interest payments on their repairs, they help to support others so they can stay in their affordable home, and further Habitat’s vision of “A world where everyone has a decent place to live.”
